According to eMarketer, U.S. programmatic TV ad spending will increase to $7.7 billion in 2022 from $4 billion in 2020.
Macquarie estimates that Trade Desk, a specialist in programmatic ad buying, garners about 25% of all revenue from Connected TV. Trade Desk gets ad inventory from the likes of Hulu, Amazon Fire and Roku.

"CTV spend will trend more and more toward programmatic rather than direct buys," Susquehanna Financial analyst Shyam Patil said in a note. "Our checks view TTD as a key beneficiary from the shift, given the company's superior tech and trusted relationships."
